The Trust Company of Tennessee raised $147,129 for the United Way through its employee campaign that featured a variety of fundraisers and awareness events, including a kickoff, Singo – the singing version of bingo – garage and bake sales, and an announcement celebrating the firm exceeding its $145,000 goal.
Founded in 1987 and with offices in Chattanooga, Knoxville and the Tri-Cities, The Trust Company of Tennessee helps individuals, families, business owners and nonprofits make better financial decisions through wealth management, personal investment strategy, corporate retirement plans, estate planning, personal trust and nonprofit investing services.
“We pride ourselves on unparalleled service to our clients, so I’m pleased but not surprised to see our team step up to serve the community as well,” said Daniel Carter, president of The Trust Company of Tennessee. “As individuals and as a company, we are committed to being both good stewards and good neighbors.”
Through payroll deductions, special events, personal donations and a corporate contribution, employees at The Trust Company raised $147,129 through this year’s campaign, eclipsing the firm’s previous United Way fundraisers. Most of the funds will go to the United Way of Greater Knoxville, but donations by remote employees will be allocated to benefit their local United Way office, including Chattanooga.
United Way of Greater Knoxville President and CEO Matt Ryerson and Champions of Change Campaign Chair John Tolsma joined The Trust Company for the campaign kickoff, each highlighting the profound impact of generous corporate partners toward improving lives in the community.
The Trust Company of Tennessee budgets $300,000 each year to contribute to community support and engagement.
