The Trust Company of Tennessee has been recognized for excellence in worksite wellness with gold status by the East Tennessee Wellness Roundtable (ETWR).
ETWR bestows bronze, silver or gold status for companies and organizations that implement policy, system and environmental changes that promote wellness. Among the initiatives in place at the firm are an on-site fitness area; wellness programs; exercise and yoga classes; and company-led physical fitness activities outside the office.
“Our firm’s primary emphasis is on fiscal fitness, of course, but physical fitness helps our team perform better overall,” said Daniel Carter, president of The Trust Company of Tennessee. “Workplace wellness keeps us healthier and builds team camaraderie inside and outside of the office. We appreciate this recognition by the East Tennessee Wellness Roundtable.”
The gold status award from ETWR also includes the donation of fitness equipment to The Trust Company of Tennessee, which will receive stability and medicine balls, steppers, weighted bars and dumbbells.
A ceremony to recognize companies and organizations achieving ETWR awards is scheduled for May 20. ETWR is a member-based collaboration of area professionals who promote healthy practices in the workplace.
In addition to the workplace setting, The Trust Company of Tennessee focuses contributes to community fitness. In 2019, Founder and CEO Sharon J. Pryse and the company donated $50,000 toward the renovation of the West Side Family YMCA at 400 N. Winston Road.
