This cake is simple and timeless – and may even evoke a bit of nostalgia. Served chilled, it’s a refreshing option as the days get warmer and fresh strawberries are at their peak.
Ingredients
- 1 boxed white cake mix, prepared to package directions
- 1 3-oz. box strawberry Jell-O or gelatin prepared to package directions
- 1 8-oz. tub Cool Whip or whipped topping
- Sliced strawberries
Instructions
- Prepare cake mix per package directions and bake in 13×9-inch pan.
- Once cake is baked and cooled, poke cake at about 1.5” intervals all over with handle of wooden spoon or straw.
- Mix gelatin per package instructions and slowly and evenly pour liquid over cake before gelatin sets.
- Cover and refrigerate for several hours (five or so) or overnight.
- Top with whipped topping and sliced fresh strawberries before serving.
