It’s all about perspective. Being “new” can be positive, just take yourself seriously so that others will too.
Whether you’re graduating from college this year or have taken a new position, it’s easy to feel like the new kid in an organization.
Depending on the corporate culture, you could be welcomed with open arms or held at arm’s length, so it’s up to you to make your place.
In my experience, the best ways to achieve position and respect in a new job are by being genuine and exceeding expectations.
Young professionals and recent graduates may assume that being new in a position is an uphill battle. But remember, the business world is always looking for a fresh perspective, and you are in the position to have one.
