The Trust Company of Tennessee promotes Hurst to vice president, Chattanooga managing director

The Trust Company of Tennessee has promoted Zach Hurst to vice president and managing director of its Chattanooga office.

Since joining The Trust Company of Tennessee in 2017, Hurst has served as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and relationship manager. In his new role, he will oversee the firm’s Chattanooga office while continuing business development by building and maintaining client relationships.

Founded in 1987 and with offices in Chattanooga, Knoxville and the Tri-Cities, The Trust Company of Tennessee currently has more than $4 billion under management. The firm helps individuals, families, business owners and nonprofits make better decisions with money through wealth management, personal investment strategy, corporate retirement plans, estate planning and personal trust services.

“Zach provides holistic services to his clients, including budgeting and financial planning, portfolio management, retirement planning, tax strategies and estate planning,” said Daniel Carter, president of The Trust Company of Tennessee. “We know he will continue to add value for clients and our firm through this new role and his personal trust and wealth management experience.”

Hurst earned a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University and Master of Education from the University of Georgia. He holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation and actively participates as a speaker for The Trust Company of Tennessee’s Retirement Plan Academy webinars for plan sponsors.

His volunteer activities and board memberships include the Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition board of directors, Planning Council of Chattanooga, UTC Planned Giving Advisory Council, Mountain City Club board of governors and Forest Hills Cemetery board of directors.

Hurst resides in Signal Mountain with wife Ashley and children Jackson, Beckham and Hannah. In his spare time, Hurst enjoys spending time with family, fishing, hunting and playing chess, golf and tennis.
